Preparing for your free tax preparation appointment is easy! This page outlines everything you need to bring to ensure a smooth and efficient process. We want to make this as stress-free as possible, so review the list below and gather your documents. Let's get started!

What to bring
To ensure we can accurately and efficiently prepare your taxes, please bring the following documents and information to your appointment:
- Last year's Federal and State tax returns and all current year tax paperwork.
- Proof of Identification (Photo ID) for you and your spouse (if applicable).
- Social Security Cards for all taxpayers and dependents on the tax return.
- A Social Security Benefit Statement (Form SSA-1099) if you received Social Security benefits.
- IRS Issued PIN if applicable.
- Local Property tax receipts
- Wage and earnings statements (Form W-2, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-Misc).
- Documentation of cash income, if applicable.
- Documentation of charitable contributions made by cash or check.
- Interest and dividend statements (Form 1099-INT, 1099-DIV).
- Health Insurance Marketplace Statement (Form 1095-A), if applicable.
- Tuition Statement (Form 1098-T), if applicable.
- Expenses and car/business mileage if you are self-employed.
- Total amount paid to a daycare provider, including the provider’s Tax Identification Number or Social Security Number.
- Amount of estimated taxes paid to the Federal or State Government.
- Proof of bank routing and account numbers (old or voided check) for direct deposit of your refund.
- Letters from the IRS (including Identity Theft PIN) if applicable.

Limitations
Please note that due to training and resource limitations, we cannot prepare the following types of returns:
- State returns other than PA
- Schedule C (Business Profit and Loss) if a loss, or if expenses > $50,000, or if you have employees.
- Schedule D (Capital Gains and Losses) for other than stocks, mutual funds, ETFs, or a personal residence.
- Schedule E (Rental Property, including VRBO, Airbnb).
- Schedule F (Farm Income).
- Other rental income or business income.
- 2106 (Employee Business Expenses).
- 3903 (Moving Expenses).
- 8615 (Minor’s Investment Income).
- Portions of Schedules A and B that are not included in our training (Pub 4012 Page xi).
- Schedule K-1 if it involves depreciation, deductible expenses, business income (see 4012 pg D-60).
- Cancellation of Mortgage Debt (1099A and/or 1099C and Form 982) if not principal residence.
- Disaster Deductions or Relief.
- Taxable transactions using virtual currency.
- Certain credits (e.g., EVs, Solar, Wind, Geothermal).
- Certain Active Military (check for restrictions).
